A Corio resident is counting his lucky stars after a person avoided his bedroom when it crashed into his fence on Sunday morning.

The police are investigating the accident.

A spokesperson said it was understood a Holden Colorado car crashed into a stone fence on Cox Rd about 4.40am.

“The driver, a 31-year-old man from Norlane, was not injured,” he said.

“It is expected that he will receive a summons for driving without a license and reckless driving.”

Homeowner Grant Kurzman said he was “very lucky” that the fence was brick and that it stopped the car because bedrooms were located at the front of the house.

He said he would now have to clean and repair his fence.

He said he called the municipality’s emergency line because the tree in his nature strip was also damaged.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at crimestoppersvic.com.au
