Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been in the NFL for long, but he’s already had his fair share of epic moments.

A three-time Super Bowl winner before turning 30, chances are he has many more in store.

Nevertheless, if you asked him about the greatest moment in football history, he wouldn’t even be part of the story.

Recently, the reigning Super Bowl MVP talked about how the New York Giants, who came from behind to beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, should get that award (via Evin).

He raved about the fact that the Giants were huge underdogs and barely made the playoffs, and that they ended up beating a team that hadn’t lost a game all season.

That Giants win was absolutely epic.

For starters, it had perhaps the most iconic catch in Super Bowl history when David Tyree outwitted a star like Rodney Harrison to secure the football and pressed it against his helmet to ensure he retained possession of the ball.

Then, with just over 30 seconds to play, Eli Manning hit a wide-open Plaxico Burress for the Giants’ second touchdown of the night – both scored in the fourth quarter – to give them a 17-14 lead.

Tom Brady and the Patriots offense failed to get it done in the final seconds, and the rest is history.

With a win there, the Pats would have finished 19-0.

Instead, Eli Manning and the New York Giants are responsible for Brady not winning another Super Bowl ring.
