Clear, cloudy Sunday weather in Philadelphia with rain during a wet Broad Street Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Runners don’t let wet weather stop them Broad Street Run is in full swing. Showers are spreading across the Delaware Valley and are expected to last throughout the day.

There will be lingering showers in Philadelphia through most of the late morning, but they will taper off in the early afternoon with spotty showers in the north and west of the city, including the Lehigh Valley, Upper Bucks County and Montgomery County.

This rain in the first half of the day won’t really impact the southern half of Delaware or the Jersey Shore, but wet weather will occur there in the evening.

What are the rain chances for the Philadelphia region?

Rain chances are high in the afternoon and evening, with most percentages reaching 50 percent or higher.

There will be a few final showers around 5pm and then it will start to clear, but the Jersey Shore will catch up a little more slowly.

There will be generally clear skies in the Philadelphia area Monday evening through early morning, but there is a chance of a thunderstorm later that night.

A spot of low pressure will move over the Delaware Valley on Tuesday

This can cause thunderstorms, heavy rain and even gusty winds very early in the day, making commutes wet.

By the time Wednesday rolls around, we could see two to three inches of rain.
