Town Meeting: Wednesday 7pm at the Savoy Fire House.

Municipal election: May 15, noon to 7 p.m., at City Hall. There are no contested races.

KEY ISSUES AT THE TOWN MEETING: The proposed town and capital budget of $122,316.06 recommended for approval by the Select Board and Finance Committee. Voters will also consider:

• An appropriation of $987,026 to fund the Emma Miller School.

• A $174,508 appropriation for McCann Technical School.

• A $20,076 credit toward Smith Vocational Tuition.

• A $12,000 credit for alternative transportation to Smith Vocational School.

• Authorizing the Select Board to appoint a town manager.

• Give the elected treasurer an appointed position.

• Participate in the Woodlands Partnership of Northwestern Massachusetts, which was proposed at last year’s annual town meeting.

• Establishment of a 6 percent excise tax on short-term rentals by adopting the provisions of the Massachusetts General Law, a recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Board.

• Adopting a bylaw to establish and authorize revolving funds.
