Winning $1 Million Illinois Lottery Ticket Sold Near Springfield


A winning $1 million ticket was recently sold outside Springfield.

The winner has not been announced, but the winning ticket was purchased at Party House at 1818 W. Morton Ave. in Jacksonville, the Illinois Lottery announced May 3.

The big winner joins two other recent winners of the $1 million prize, both Chicago companies.

For selling the winning tickets, Party House in Jacksonville, BP at South Western in Chicago and Millennium News and Views in Chicago will each receive a sales bonus of one percent of the prize amount, or $10,000.

The Million Instant Ticket, part of the Illinois lottery system, is a scratch-off ticket game with three top prizes of $10 million, 15 prizes of $1 million and a chance to win $500 on every ticket sold in Illinois.

A total of nine players, including the winner of the ticket sold in Jacksonville, won the $1 million prize, leaving six lucky tickets left to win the remaining millions.

Since January of this year, more than 22 million Illinois Lottery Instant Tickets have been sold, netting players more than $563 million in prizes.
