The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t need to add many players to their roster this offseason.

Even though losing L’Jarius Sneed was a big blow, they didn’t even have to go after a big defensive back.

However, they had a clear need at wide receiver, and while they had already added Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to the mix, Rashee Rice’s legal turmoil made it more than clear that they needed to add more depth to their WR corps.

With that in mind, they made a trade to ensure they would land the fastest wideout in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine.

Remarkably, it didn’t take long for Xavier Worthy to demonstrate his speed for his new teammates, with the Chiefs sharing a clip of his route running at rookie minicamp.

Worthy was a standout in Texas, and given Hollywood Brown’s durability issues and lack of competition, he should be inserted into Andy Reid’s offense right away.

The Chiefs had the fastest wide receiver in the game in Tyreek Hill, and they haven’t had a reliable pass catcher at WR since he was traded to the Miami Dolphins.

Yet they have still managed to win back-to-back Super Bowls, and they will remain the team to beat in the league until proven otherwise.

So with a man clocked at a 4.21 40-yard dash and Patrick Mahomes eager to tear the football down the field again, their pursuit of the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat just got a huge boost .
