A fatal party bus crash in Maryland has left at least one person dead and 23 injured after it crashed into an I-95 guardrail – The US Sun

At least one person is dead and 23 others injured after a tragic party bus crash.

The bus crashed on northbound Interstate 95 in Maryland on Sunday morning, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Of the 24 people on the bus, only one fatality was reported, while the remaining passengers were hospitalized at multiple locations after the crash, Penn Live reported:

  • Ten patients were taken to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake in Bel Air
  • Eight patients were taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore
  • Five patients were taken to the University of Marland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Aberdeen

Around 6 a.m., the driver of the bus lost control for “unknown reasons” and struck a guardrail south of Exit 80.

Of the 23 passengers hospitalized, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reports that “several are in serious condition.”

The first to arrive at the scene of the accident were a commercial paramedic ambulance and an off-duty DC Fire and EMS paramedic who began treating the injured.

The bus was owned by Just Becuz Entertainment Party Bus Service, a Philadelphia-based company.

While the Maryland State Crash Team investigates the crash, all northbound lanes of I-95 remain closed at mile marker 77.

In addition to state police, troopers from the Bel Air Barrack, officers from the Maryland Transportation Authority Police and deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.

At this time, no charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
