Interim Executive Director Tipped by South Windsor Chamber of Commerce


SOUTH WINDSOR, CT – After several years without an official leader, the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named an interim executive director with a wealth of experience and a track record of success in fostering business growth and community development.

Gladys Ortiz, who recently served as president-elect of the board, will step down from that position to assume the duties of overseeing the chamber’s daily operations, implementing strategic initiatives and fostering collaboration among members of the community business and stakeholders. . She will work closely with the board of directors and staff to advance the organization’s mission and objectives.

“The South Windsor Chamber has been without an executive director for several years, and despite that, our chamber has grown in membership and program,” said Jill McAllister of Tonsha Marketing Agency. “We are all excited because this step means even more support for local businesses.”


For the past 20 years, Ortiz has been a leader in the financial industry and has earned numerous certifications in leadership, coaching and business development. She also serves as a board member of Friends of the Wood Memorial Library and Museum, and her expertise in building partnerships, encouraging innovation and advocating for small businesses will be invaluable as the chamber continues to support and promote local business.
