Video features 124 images of mothers submitted by Space Coast residents

WATCH: Steve Wilson of Friday Night Locker Room has put together a list of images from various moms from and around the Space Coast. His thinking was that no matter who and how many images he received, this video represents all mothers everywhere.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Mother’s Day. What can I say about Mother’s Day? It has taken on a different meaning for me since I lost my mother on August 2, 2018. I never took her for granted, but I wish I had visited her more often. She lived in Georgia and I live in Florida. It’s not an excuse, but distance can sometimes be a challenge.

Anna Jarvis, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is credited with creating Mother’s Day in the early 20th century. Her mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died in 1905. Anna wanted to do something special, so she created Mother’s Day, to not only honor her mother, but also to honor the sacrifices all mothers make for their children.

Mother’s Day was formally declared on May 8, 1914, when the United States Congress designated the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.

Pictured above, from left to right, are Joe Wilson, Andy Wilson, Mrs. Guy Wilson and Steve Wilson. The three Wilson brothers are seen with their mother at the third annual Frank Wilson Golf Tournament in Macon, Georgia.

Working on this video with several mothers was one of the most fun and heartwarming projects I have undertaken. Every mother in this video is special. I know this because I’ve heard it many times from those who submitted photos.

My only regret is that I can’t add more. With a population of approximately 630,000 in Brevard County, I was limited! However, my thought process was that no matter who and how many images I received, this video represents all moms everywhere.
