EV automakers get a reprieve from US tax credit rules – the China-Global South Project

The US government on Friday gave automakers a reprieve from finalizing tax credit rules for electric vehicles by making cars containing Chinese graphite eligible for consumer credits until 2026.

The confirmation came as the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service released final rules on the clean vehicle provisions under President Joe Biden’s landmark climate action plan, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
