The University of Alabama National Alumni Association has announced that Crimson Tide fans in the state of Florida can now wear an official, iconic badge of the Sunshine State.

The National Alumni Association singled out its Florida chapter for its continued and tireless efforts to get these records to Florida. In particular, both Will Moore and Les Yates were mentioned.

Currently, there are more than 50,000 UA-labeled license plates in Alabama, and according to the university, more than 97 percent of the proceeds from drivers purchasing them goes toward funding scholarship programs at UA.

Florida joins several other states in offering the Tide plate, including Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Tennessee.

Florida residents can now officially purchase their new license plate, regardless of tag status, directly from the Escambia County Tax Collectors Office here.
